Nerve Problems

Nerve problems can cause various symptoms such as intense pain, numbness, or altered sensation.  In addition, they may interrupt normal muscle and organ functioning when nerve signals become disrupted.  The following are some examples of treatments provided for various common nerve problems:

  • Nerve pain - an injury or impingement of a nerve, resulting in pain.  Acupuncture is applied in order to reduce inflammation of the nerve and surrounding tissues, as well as moderate the nervous system to reduce pain.  Acupressure or reflexology may also be applied to release surrounding muscle tissue and ease nerve impingement.  Electrical stimulation may also be applied to normalize nerve conduction.
  • Numbness - an injury or impingement to a nerve, resulting in loss of sensation.  Acupuncture is applied in order to enhance healing and regeneration of the nerve and re-establish sensation.  Electrical stimulation may also be applied to normalize nerve conduction.  Heat therapy, acupressure, or reflexology may also be applied in order to improve circulation.
