Sexual Dysfunction
Sexual dysfunctions prevent the normal functioning of the male or female sexual organs, resulting in pain and loss of function. The following are some examples of treatments provided for various common sexual dysfunction:
- Erectile dysfunction - difficulty in forming or maintain an erection. Acupuncture is applied to improve hormone production and circulation.
- Urinary tract infection - chronic or recurrent infections of the urinary tract. Acupuncture is applied to strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, and balance vaginal pH to reduce recurrence.
- Yeast infection - chronic or recurrent yeast infections. Acupuncture is applied to strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation and itching, and balance vaginal pH to reduce recurrence.
- Vaginal atrophy - inflammation and reduced lubrication of the vaginal wall. Acupuncture is applied to balance the hormones, reduce inflammation, and improve fluid production.
- Uterine fibroids - growths on the inside of the uterine wall which can result in pain or unusual bleeding. Acupuncture is applied to balance the hormones and reduce inflammation.
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome - cysts formed on the ovaries, resulting in systemic hormone imbalance. Acupuncture is applied to balance the hormones and reduce inflammation.
- Endometriosis - growth of endometrial tissue outside of the uterus, resulting in inflammation and pain. Acupuncture is applied to balance the hormones and reduce inflammation.
- Menstrual difficulty - dysfunctional menstruation which may cause the normal cycle to be irregular, painful, or excessive. Acupuncture is applied to balance and regulate the hormones that control menstruation.
